1) GREAT video, Ferfal. I've been tied up the past several days and just got around to looking at it.

2) I would suggest also looking at the military and foreign affairs situation of the nation which you are considering for relocation. Australia has a population of about 20 million, she can only grow enough food to support 10 million, she is very vulnerable to global-warming induced drought, and she has 2 BILLION people just to her north across an island chain. If not for the US Navy in WWII, she would be speaking Japanese and if the US withdraws into isolationism (because of our huge debt), Australia may end up speaking Chinese in the future. She does have a good Navy, however.

3) Re Northern Ireland, she is part of the UK. It would be sad if this Falklands war escalates and you are drafted to be sent to fight in the Falklands.

We don't have the draft in the UK… one of the alleged reasons is it's politically sensitive in NI, where large sections of the Roman Catholic community refuse to acknowledge Britain's rule.

Excellent post and video, Fer! It really got me thinking. My Grandfather on my Mom's side was German and I believe, on my Dad's side, he was Welsh (both had passed away before I was born). I believe hyperinflation is in store for the US (don't want to guess when) but Germany seems to be holding the line on inflating its currency. Some on my mother's side of the family has made contact with relatives back in Germany…what would my chances be like of getting dual citizenship? Not that I would move to Germany anytime soon, but I loved the emphasis you put in to the dual citizenship and how that gave you a world of opportunities.

There is far more places you can travel with something other than a US passport. Not necessarily to live, but wouldn't it be great to meet other people outside of the western sphere?

Absolutely! I was in the Navy for 6 years from 82 to 88 and had been to a few European countries, Israel, and Egypt and loved everyone of them! My wife has never been out of the country so it's on my top priority list to make it back to Europe again. For that matter, hell: I love talking to our European counterparts right here on this forum!

I think it would be interesting to visit Cuba.
